The Taipei City Government’s translator, Priya, brought her Indian, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Taiwanese colleagues to visit City Hall to pay a visit and learn more about our future development targets. Particularly on the radar was our green policies.
This happens to be an area of great importance for Mayor and the City Government
The City Hall’s total ban on single use plastics (as you can see from the reusable cups on the table), progressive reduction of our carbon footprint (by further utilising video call technology to avoid unnecessary air travel) and our meetings with clean energy providers are all examples of the constant attention that we have given to the area of green development. We are more than happy to share our experience and success with our South East and South Asian friends.
Priya is not only a talented translator, she is also an innovator. I’m privileged to be able to host her today! Taiwan is richer because of outstanding new migrants like her.
